David is a children's author with Alfred A. Knopf/Random House, as well as a fiction writer, and science writer. His most recent book is on neuroscience and story creation--The Trickster Brain.
Grandma Essie's Covered Wagon is included in the McGraw-Hill 5th Grade reader: millions of kids have read this story in school.
David is available for school author visits, for live concerts, and for writing a musical/play with kids that can be produced and filmed.

GOING DOWN THE RIVER, A Musical Play for Kids by David Williams © 2015
David has written songs, and even, whole musicals with grade school, middle school, and high schools kids--with 15 years spent in the Illinois Artist in Residence program, and as visiting playwright with the Rockford Area Arts Council. Recently, he wrote a musical with kids from the STEM Magnet Lab School (Second Graders in Northglenn, Colorado), which was produced by Gregg Cannady, musical director for Adams County School District 12. This play ended up being presented in an encore performance for the Governor of CO.
